Panzura has officially launched its latest innovation. Panzura Symphony is a data services platform designed to address the complexities of unstructured data and align them with business outcomes. According to the company, the platform represents a significant advancement in data management.
Symphony offers a comprehensive suite of vendor-certified data operations within a single, unified interface. The platform supports a wide range of file system deployments and protocols, as well as on-premises, private, public, and hybrid cloud object storage, including major providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage.
Panzura says Symphony is poised to transform the way enterprise organizations manage their data. With a unified dashboard and responsive user interface, the platform enables IT operations (ITOps) and line-of-business leaders to perform automated, exabyte-scale data discovery and assessment, risk and compliance analysis, and dynamic data movement orchestration.
This holistic approach ensures that businesses can achieve agility and control in their IT and data operations.“Panzura Symphony brings together proven technology and Panzura’s future vision where data management meets strategy for business success,” said Dan Waldschmidt, CEO of Panzura.
The platform builds on Panzura’s acquisition of Moonwalk Universal Inc., evolving the former Moonwalk solution with a new and expanding toolset.
According to the company, Symphony enhances the data operations capabilities of Panzura Data Serviceswhich provides data visibility, governance, and real-time access across ecosystems. It also complements the functionality of PanzuraCloudFS, a hybrid cloud file services platform that supports large-scale multi-site workflows for the most active data.
In a press statement, the company said this expansion of Panzura’s hybrid cloud portfolio addresses “the other 90% of file data for which organizations need synchronous visibility and control to fully leveragedigital transformation in their own contexts.”
Panzura says Symphony offers some unique capabilities and features. This includes the ability to conduct comprehensive data discovery and assessments which allows businesses to gain insights into their entire data estate.
The platform provides a detailed overview of data, including its structure, content, and relationships. As a result, businesses can connect their data to business needs and requirements, identifying cost optimization opportunities based on data volatility, temperature, file type, file size, ownership, and metadata tags.
Symphony also supports artificial intelligence (AI) workflows by streamlining data placement, transformation, and restructuring. This capability contributes to robust AI pipeline support, from data collection to model deployment.
Additionally, Symphony provides granular control at the folder, share, entire file system, or bucket level, ensuring that actions are precise and tailored to the specific needs of an organization.
In today’s data-driven world, effective data management is crucial for compliance with data handling, privacy, and chain of custody regulations. Panzura Symphony helps organizations handle these complexities by providing meticulous analysis and policy application, data movement, and evidence-based reporting to corporate data stewards and stakeholders.
“Panzura Symphony helps organizations navigate blind spots within expanding data estates. They can get compliant, stay compliant, and scale into every corner of their unstructured footprint,” saidPanzura’s chief technology officer Sundar Kanthadai in a press statement.
Symphony’s dynamic data movement orchestration capabilities allow ITOps and storage teams to precisely orchestrate data placement, archive, and migration, transforming the data operations framework. According to Panzura, this ensures that data is efficiently processed through AI pipelines, leveraging various triggers and transformation functions to handle different data workloads and ecosystems.
By optimizing file and object workflows, Symphony also contributes cost savings and has the potential to significantlyreduce the overall storage footprint of an organization. This helps lower the total cost of ownership for storageaccording to Panzura.
With the launch of the platform, the company aims to help enterprises get more business value and overall savings from their unstructured data. It helps organizations align their data with their strategic goals and objectives through better data visibility, flexibility, accessibility, and control.
